Unveiling Hidden Gems in Lansing and Detroit

Our adventure begins in Lansing, Michigan, a city brimming with charm and natural beauty. With its picturesque greenery and stunning architecture, Lansing provides the perfect setting for capturing some unforgettable bridal moments. From tranquil parks to iconic landmarks, we immerse ourselves in the essence of love as we photograph couples against the backdrop of this enchanting city. It was an honor not only to be there for our friends James and Lindsay. It was an honor to do their bridal session.

Anyone that knows me, knows I love run down and abandoned anything. So when I saw the old barn across the street from the golf course, I just had to go over there to do some more bridals!

We're always up for travel for weddings!

During our time in Lansing, our friend took us on a tour of Michigan State University, his beloved alma mater and home of the Spartans. Him and the bride were cheerleaders there. The campus unfolded before us, showcasing a blend of stunning architecture, sprawling green spaces, and an atmosphere buzzing with academic energy. As we walked through the campus, we couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and appreciation for the university's rich history and cherished traditions. Our friend's personal insights and experiences added a delightful touch, making this journey through his alma mater a truly memorable experience.

But our journey doesn't end there. We set our sights on the vibrant city of Detroit, known for its rich history and architectural wonders. However, we're not simply interested in the well-known attractions. Our passion lies in uncovering the hidden gems within Detroit's abandoned buildings. With a mix of excitement and nostalgia, we navigate the forgotten corridors and capture the captivating decay of these once-thriving structures. Each location tells a unique story, allowing us to explore the city's past and present simultaneously.

What makes this journey truly remarkable is the intersection of our passion for photography and the bonds of friendship. As we document precious moments and venture into unknown territories, we create lasting memories together. The shared experiences of capturing love and exploring the urban landscape strengthen our connection and deepen our appreciation for the art of storytelling through images.

We stopped by a church that has been on my radar and were able to talk to the new owners assistant.

He is turning it into a wedding venue, brewery in the basement and other things. We would have gotten a tour inside, Which was a dream of mine, but we had to fly out the next day. Hopefully one day I can photograph a wedding there!

We also visited Belle Isle and came across a nature center that was absolutely amazing! And they had an abandoned zoo! I've seen photos of it before from Urban Explorers I follow, but didn't know it would be there. We also stopped by the Packard Plant and a beautiful Catholic Church. I love Catholic Church weddings and one here would be so beautiful!

As we conclude our journey in Lansing, Michigan, and urban exploration in Detroit, we are left with a profound sense of awe and fulfillment.

Getting to walk down down the street where the 1967 riots were, learning about the history of the riots was an experience being able to be there on the streets where it happened. It was an unforgettable experience. And if you know me, not only do I like abandoned buildings and places, I also love history and learning about what happened at these places. The combination of capturing love amidst Lansing's beauty and unraveling the mysteries of Detroit's forgotten buildings has provided us with unforgettable experiences and memories.

This adventure has not only allowed us to pursue our passions but has also deepened our friendships. The laughter, shared moments of excitement, and the thrill of discovery have created bonds that will last a lifetime. We have discovered that the intersection of love, photography, and exploration is a mix that ignites our spirits and fuels our creativity.
