Editorial & fine art photography

Hi, my name is

Anita McLeod

Expressive

Storyteller

Thank you for stopping by! My name is Anita McLeod and I'm very happy to meet you! I want to tell you a little about myself and why photography is such a passion of mine!

I am a traveler, thrill seeker and nature enthusiast. I take that part of my soul and mix it with the passion for photographing people and those unique moments that are priceless and eternal. I promise you a unique experience, and treasured photographs, with an emphasis on you.

I am originally from Tucson, Az. Born and raised! I service Tucson and all of Southern Arizona including Willcox, Bisbee, Benson, Safford Sierra Vista, Vail, Amado and many more! I love nature and all of it's beauty! I definitely love showcasing that beauty in my sessions!  I take my time and edit every session with a feel for the moment and the lighting. Because every session is so unique, every edit is unique to that session.

I began my love affair with the camera in 2009 when my mother was going to school for landscape architecture with her BFA in Photography. I would go with her on her assignments and she would help me with lighting, angles and all of the little details which are oh so important!

I'm not going to lie, the amount of buttons and options compared to my little point and shoot model overwhelmed me when I dove into a real professional camera. But eager to learn, I read the manual from front to back, read books, and with my mothers help and some amazing groups of other professionals I joined, the more I became acquainted with my camera and learned how to manipulate it, the more I fell in love with the art of taking photographs.

The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree because my grandfather was a first lieutenant in the Air Force (called the Air Corps then) and During WWII he took black and white photos from the airplanes during that time. And my paternal grandfather was an amazing artist whos art is hanging on my walls decorating my home. Spending time with him in his studio growing up has definitely been a big influence to my love of art.

Today, I'm proud to say that I've had hundreds of fabulous human beings step in front of my lens. Although I take a storytelling approach, I do take help with outfit ideas to the perfect location. I think things through from start to finish, head to toe, foreground to background.

Why so thorough? Because I believe details are exceedingly important. For that reason, I work closely with my clients to ensure they look and feel amazing the day of our shoot. I love receiving texts and emails of what you plan to wear and bounce ideas off of each other. I also love hearing about all of the details of your wedding day, and love capturing those special candid moments. I love coordinating color schemes with clients that look amazing wherever you choose to shoot!

Whether it be a local spot, or on a cliff somewhere in nature!

My specialties are Weddings, Elopements and Engagements and Boudoir. I also do Families, Seniors, Maternity and other Portrait sessions such as branding and headshots.

I do spend my free time out in nature doing Landscape and Wild horse photography. I also love going to National Parks and Landmarks, Ghost Towns and anything abandoned. I sell my fine art photos of them. And you can find my gallery here! I am always adding to it, so keep checking back. If there's something you are looking for, just ask, I might have it!

I absolutely love everything about my job! Especially the amazing people I have been fortunate to photograph over the years.

I hope that from this brief introduction of myself, you understand that I am not just a person who takes random pictures. I am a photographer, I capture the inner and outer essence of whoever is standing on the other side of my lens.

I truly believe that everyone deserves to be captured in those beautiful moments. It's like freezing a piece of their soul in time, a cherished memory that resonates with the warmth of love and support. It's these moments of life that hold the essence of our most profound connections, and I am passionate about preserving those feelings in every photograph I take

My Work Style

My work style is a testament to capturing authentic, raw emotions as they unfold naturally—each frame a candid, unscripted moment in the beautiful narrative of love. Inspired by the artistry of film, my editing style is a reflection of this passion, infusing a cinematic touch that adds depth and emotion to every image. Nature, with its timeless beauty, becomes a canvas in my photos, showcasing landscapes that frame the love stories I capture. It's a fusion of storytelling, genuine emotion, and the breathtaking backdrop of nature—a visual symphony that echoes my love for the craft.

P.S. I absolutely love polaroids and have many!

If you want a roll added to your session, just ask!
